Short on time? The Panthère de Cartier first appeared in 1983 and came back in 2017. The WSPN0015 is the medium model in steel: 27mm by 37mm, quartz, silvered dial with black Roman numerals, and the flexible Panthère bracelet that makes it what it is. Ours is unworn, a 2026 full set.

Backstory
The panther has been Cartier's symbol since the 1910s. It's closely linked with Jeanne Toussaint, who ran Cartier's high jewellery from the 1930s and whose nickname was "La Panthère".
The Panthère watch came much later, in 1983. It was a square case on a bracelet of small, brick-like links, and it was a hit through the 1980s and 90s. Cartier quietly dropped it in the 2000s, then brought it back in 2017 in two sizes, small and medium. The timing was good. People were looking for watches that felt like jewellery again.
Key Details
The WSPN0015 is the medium model: 27mm wide, 37mm long and about 6mm thick, in polished steel. The dial is silvered with black Roman numerals, a railway minute track and blued steel sword hands. The crown is set with a blue synthetic spinel, a Cartier signature.
But really, the bracelet is the watch. The links are small and flexible, and they drape around the wrist more like fabric than metal. There's no obvious clasp. Getting the sizing right matters, so it hugs the wrist without being tight.

The Movement
It's quartz, which suits the watch. The Panthère is about looking good and being ready to wear any time, not winding it in the morning. If you want a mechanical Cartier, this isn't it, and that's fine.
On the Wrist
The medium size is the one we'd go for. It has a bit more presence than the small and still looks delicate. It's thin enough to sit under a cuff and works as well with a T-shirt as with an evening dress.
Final Thoughts
The Panthère is one of the most wearable Cartiers out there. A classic 1980s design, a bracelet nobody else has managed to copy properly, and almost no maintenance.
Ours is an unworn 2026 Panthère de Cartier medium in steel, full set.
